NYU’s merger with Polytechnic questioned

New York University’s proposed merger with Polytechnic University in Brooklyn has been challenged by some trustees and alumni ahead of a final board vote. Critics question whether NYU is more interested in acquiring the school’s Downtown Brooklyn campus for expansion. Polytechnic has a 650,000-square-foot campus in Brooklyn’s MetroTech Center and holds air rights that developer Forest City Ratner could be interested in buying.
