Dumbo rezoning plan moves ahead

The city’s planning department is expected to release its proposal to
rezone a 10-block area in Brooklyn’s Dumbo today. While the city is
examining an area bounded by York, Bridge and John streets and the
Manhattan Bridge, the Dumbo Neighborhood Association is calling for
contextual zoning for the entire neighborhood. Residents are worried about
big developments like David Walentas’ Dock Street project. Dumbo was designated a historic district two months ago.
