Big Meadowlands project gets slammed by New Jersey official

New Jersey’s inspector general has harshly criticized the developer behind a $1 billion housing and golf development at the Meadowlands and asked the state attorney general consider a criminal inquiry. Once touted the “Miracle at the Meadowlands” because it would clean up landfills, the project has seen years of delays under developer EnCap. New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine requested an investigation of the project’s finances after EnCap asked for an additional $450 million in bonds. Donald Trump took over the site’s management in November.
