Tishman offers free rent at Stuy Town

Tishman Speyer Properties, the new owner of the 110-building Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village complex on the East River, has offered a month’s free rent and pet-friendly policies to lure tenants. The property, which Tishman paid a record $5.4 billion for in 2006, reportedly has a vacancy rate of between 5 and 10 percent. With a free month factored in, a one-bedroom now rents for $2,543 to $2,887 per month including utilities. The complex’s new gym recently opened.
