Omid Kordestani, Google’s senior vice president of global sales and business development, has purchased a penthouse duplex at 15 Central Park West for $29.5 million, according to city records posted today.
Kordestani bought unit 16-17C, a 5,416-square-foot unit with a 405-square-foot terrace. Kordestani will be a neighbor to Goldman Sachs chairman and CEO Lloyd Blankfein, who bought unit 16-17A for $26 million.
Kordestani joined Google in 1998, one year after the company was founded, and has been called the mastermind behind the partnership and advertising decisions that helped make the company become a household name. In 2006 he was named one of Time Magazine’s “100 people who shape our world.”
Forbes magazine ranked Kordestani No. 189 on its 2006 survey of the world’s richest people.
