After weeks of negotiations, the modified version of developer Sheldon Solow’s $4 billion mixed-use development along the East River is expected to be approved by the City Council. One council subcommittee already approved the project this morning, and another plans to vote on it today. Modifications to the plan — which includes six residential glass towers with a total of 4,000 units, an office tower and more than 500 parking spaces — included lowered building heights and a re-orientation of some buildings, as well as the addition of open space.
