The Hotel Chelsea’s new management has stepped up evictions recently. The hotel forgave musician Adam Rushfield’s $14,106 in unpaid rent, in exchange for him moving out by Feb. 29. Another tenant who did laser hair removals for visiting musicians and film crews in her studio was booted because she lacked a lease. The effort to upgrade the famed hotel came after rival hotel heirs David Elder and Marlene Krauss replaced veteran manager Stanley Bard with corporate manager BD Hotels.
