Steven Van Zandt buys Village penthouse condo for $6 million

Steven Van Zandt, a guitarist in Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and
an actor on the The Sopranos, has closed on a condo at Novare, a
converted church at 135 West Fourth Street, according to city records
posted today. Van Zandt played the consigliere and strip club owner
Silvio Dante on The Sopranos. He left Springsteen’s band in 1984 to go
solo, but rejoined in the 1990s. He hosts Little Steven’s Underground
Garage, a weekly syndicated radio show.

The developer Flank transformed
a Romanesque Revival Methodist church built in 1860 into Novare, which
features a 50-foot tall atrium and original stained glass. The Post reported in January that Van Zandt and his wife Maureen had made an offer on the 3,500 square foot three-bedroom, three-bath apartment, which has a 600 square foot terrace with an outdoor kitchen. TRD
