The resignation of Gov. Eliot Spitzer is expected to delay the selection of one of four bidders to develop Hudson Yards, a decision the MTA had planned to make by the end of this month. But Gov. David Paterson is not expected to bring about a long delay as he reviews the process and the bids. “I don’t think the new governor is going to want a new process set up,” said Steven Spinola, president of the Real Estate Board of New York. More complicated is the proposed Moynihan Station, which faced massive funding shortfalls and a possible collapse, despite Spitzer’s backing. Real estate execs also wonder if Paterson will replace any Spitzer-appointed heads at key agencies, like MTA head Elliot Sander and Patrick Foye, chairman of the Downstate Empire State Development Corp.
