The United Nations has signed a six-year lease for 460,000 square feet of office space at 380 Madison Avenue. The deal, which Real Estate Weekly reported would happen in January, is one of several the UN has made as it prepares to temporarily relocate offices before a five-year renovation begins next year. The $1.9 billion renovation will bring several buildings up to date with better technology, energy efficiency and safety codes. TAG 380, a subsidiary of Solow Management Corporation, owns 380 Madison Avenue. About 1,700 employees from the UN’s Secretariat Building will be transferred there. Last summer, the United Nations signed a deal to lease the vacant Albano Building, a 187,000-square-foot nearby property. TRD
