New mall to be created under Jamaica LIRR station

An MTA printing facility underneath a Long Island Rail Road station in Jamaica, Queens, will be transformed into a shopping center. The Greater Jamaica Development Corp. has signed a lease with the MTA for the 12,000-square-foot space on Sutphin Boulevard. The project is part of the planned $100 million JFK-Corporate Square next to Jamaica’s AirTrain and LIRR stations, where the city wants housing and hotels to be built.
