AOL is moving into its new headquarters, a renovated office space in a 1903 building at 770 Broadway designed by Daniel Burnham, the architect known for the Flatiron Building on 5th Avenue and Union Station in Washington, D.C. Work on the building, by architectural firm Mancini-Duffy, added new spaces and made it environmentally friendly. Only two floors of the building are occupied so far, but it will eventually house more than 300 AOL employees. The company’s move from Dulles, Va., was seen as an attempt to enter New York City’s ad sales industry. In this month’s issue, The Real Deal looks at areas media companies are moving to, including Downtown. TRD
