Landlords are pressing for a rent hike of up to 15 percent for the city’s 1 million rent-regulated homes. The Rent Stabilization Association, which represents building owners, wants at least a 10 percent increase, with a minimum of $60 for any apartment. A Rent Guidelines Board report revealed that building owners’ costs increased 7.8 percent this year, compared to 5.1 percent last year. The board could recommend higher increases at its Monday meeting.
