Condo sales have begun for a restored 13-story at 905 West End Avenue, a 1917 neo-classical building that had deteriorated. The building features 52 two-, three- and four-bedroom luxury homes that start at $1.86 million. The lobby features restored crown moldings and stone floors, while apartments have had their original ornaments restored. The developer is Samson Management, and Halstead Property is handling sales. Last century, the building’s architect, Gaetan Ajello, also designed other noted West Side buildings, including the Mira Mar, Eton Hall and the Luxor. He also designed two neighboring apartment buildings, 885 and 895 West End Avenue. The stretch of West End Avenue was fashionable for well-heeled residents back when the buildings went up in the 1910s and ’20s. TRD
