The Renzo Piano-designed Whitney Museum proposed for the base of the High Line in the Meatpacking District will be revealed at a public meeting tonight at St. Vincent’s Croton Auditorium. The museum would be built at 820 Washington Street, at Gansevoort Street, in an old meatpacking plant. It would be twice as big as the Whitney Museum on the Upper East Side. The Whitney acquired the spot after the Dia Art Foundation backed out of taking it.
