The once popular but now shuttered Southampton restaurant Savanna’s could be in the hands of one of New York City’s most powerful real estate players. The chairman of Prudential Douglas Elliman, Howard Lorber, reportedly bought the eatery from the estate of a late business executive, Howard Gittis. Lorber has reportedly tapped Manhattan restaurateur Tony Fortuna to reopen the eatery as a steakhouse called TBar at Savanna’s. It is expected to open in mid-June.
