The Department of Buildings removed its stop-work order yesterday on Goldman Sachs’ new 43-story building in Lower Manhattan. Work has only restarted on the lower 13 floors and netting will completely cover the building. A senior Tishman executive will be on site full-time to oversee safety. Construction was recently halted after the tower racked up 20 safety violations, including a 30-by-30-inch aluminum plate that plunged 18 stories and landed in a park. Architect Robert Woo suffered paralyzing injuries when his trailer was crushed by seven tons of aluminum wall studs that fell from the building last year.
