Rudin Management Company’s rental high-rise at 215 East 68th Street has a roster of big names, some still living in rent-stabilized apartments. Former Mayor David Dinkins calls the building home, and so did his predecessor John Lindsay, state supreme court justices, and former police and fire commissioners. The 33-story building between Second and Third Avenues, built in 1962, has 608 apartments. Spokesman Howard Rubenstein said that Rudin’s former owners, Lewis and Jack Rudin, “have had many friends in and out of government, and “from time to time some of the people would tell the Rudins, ‘Look, we really would like and need an apartment.'”
