The Bowery’s Sunshine Hotel, famous for bleak conditions and eccentric personalities, will not be demolished for at least another three years. Owner Roseann Carone’s bid for a “certificate of no harassment,” necessary to continue with plans to build condos, was denied after a judge found that the hotel had verbally abused and threatened tenants and neglected maintenance. The owner must now wait three years before reapplying to build condos on the site.
