Deal on Ground Zero church near

The Port Authority says it’s close to a reaching a deal with a church at Ground Zero that would speed up therebuilding of the World Trade Center. Talks had stalled over creating a new home for the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001. At issue were funding and the new church’s exact location. The delays have prevented the authority from building the site’s southern foundation wall and finishing the design for an underground security screening center.
