Two duplexes next door to each other are up for sale at 740 Park for $38 and $35 million, and a buyer could consider combining them to create a 14,000-square-foot home for $73 million – it would be one of the largest apartments in the city. The $35 million four-bedroom unit was owned by the late Randolph Speight, who was president of the co-op board and famous in the building for causing fear in the hearts of prospective buyers during interviews. The $38 million five-bedroom unit was bought by an investor in the ’70s for $145,000.
