Manhattan rentals fight summer slump

Rents for Manhattan apartments were down in June and July as compared to last year, and August isn’t looking any better. Some landlords are finally lowering rents, instead of trying to lure people with months of free rent and other incentives. Brokers say, however, that Manhattan rents will likely increase again in 2009.
