Investigators said 48-year-old Anthony Esposito, the construction worker who died yesterday in a crane fall, was working on a 20-foot platform attached to the crane about 40 floors up when the platform tilted and he lost his footing. Authorities are trying to determine whether the platform was properly anchored. An investigator said it looked like it was secured at two points instead of four. Esposito, who was working at Larry Silverstein’s Silver Towers at River Place, at 600 West 42nd Street, was wearing a safety harness, but it was not attached to anything. More than 20 people have been killed in New York City construction accidents this year.
