Affordable housing under construction in Bed-Stuy

The Northeast Brooklyn Housing Development Corporation is redeveloping four vacant lots at 119-125 Vernon Avenue, between Tompkins and Marcy avenues, into the Vernon Avenue Condominiums. Each of the two buildings will have eight condominiums, for a total of 14 two-bedroom condos between 781 and 801 square feet and two 601-square-foot one-bedrooms. Prices range from $96,000 to $374,000. The project, part of an effort by the Brooklyn group to expand affordable housing options in the neighborhood, is slated for completion in spring 2010.
