Red Hook pier proposals rejected

The city’s Economic Development Corporation has rejected all the proposals to develop Pier 11 in Red Hook. In January 2007, the city said it wanted proposals with “a marina and maritime support services.” Terra Capital Partners’ proposal called for a luxury marina with restaurants, a shipyard and slips for ferries. The Durst Organization, along with New York Water Taxi, submitted a proposal with a marina, public beach and concessions. A spokesperson for the EDC said none of the proposals met the agency’s criteria.
