The owner of a crane that fell and killed two people in May
at 333 East 91st Street was allowed to take the crane to a police storage facility after the
incident, and lawyers for the victims’ families claim that move could
have damaged the evidence. An inspection of parts of the crane
Wednesday showed the cranes were dumped into bins at the storage
facility, one of the attorneys said. The victims’ families are suing
New York Crane and Equipment Co., the crane’s owner; the city and
others involved in the incident.
