Banks are poor landlords

CNN’s Louise Schiavone last week looked at banks as property managers. Nearly half of the home inventory now on the market consists of bank-owned distressed homes. But banks aren’t in the business of being landlords, home inspectors and real estate agents say, so many of these homes have been neglected and need maintenance. Poor upkeep of bank-owned homes can devastate neighborhoods.
