Sunshine talks 56 Leonard delays, low marks for the Mark

In an interview
with Marquis Who’s Who, Louise Sunshine, development director at the
Alexico Group, talked about what’s going on at 56 Leonard Street in
Tribeca and the Mark Hotel, at 25 East 77th Street, on the Upper East
Side. Sunshine said 56 Leonard is delayed because the developer is
having trouble getting construction financing, and has about two-thirds
of its needed funds. At the Mark Hotel, which is opening in March,
one-third of the units will be permanent homes, and of those units,
about one-third are sold. “People are really just not buying in this
market; they’re circling,” Sunshine said. Marquis Who’s Who launched its real estate and design section — which includes interviews with Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Dottie Herman, the Corcoran Group’s Pamela Liebman and developer Larry Silverstein — on January 7.
