A former resident of Rockrose Development Group’s EastCoast development in Long Island City said the building refused to renew his lease after he posted negative comments about the building on the Internet. The resident, David Griffiths, who shared a two-bedroom unit in the building with his wife Katy for $2,715 per month, made the comments in an online tenants’ group he created, which was accessible only to those Griffiths approved. Griffiths said Rockrose told him it wouldn’t renew his lease because he wasn’t happy at the building. A senior vice president for marketing at Rockrose said she approved the decision not to renew the Griffiths’ lease and that he was “abusive.”
