Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr., whose East Village home is currently on the market for $899,000, owns a second home upstate in developer Chuck Petersheim’s Catskill Farms development. Petersheim’s farmhouses and cottages range from $220,000 to more than $500,000, and sit on several acres of land. Hammond’s 19th-century style home is on 10 acres of property, and includes a barn with a recording studio. Petersheim doesn’t list his homes with brokers, and people have been finding him for several years through friends who have bought in the development and through his Web site. Hammond heard about the development from New York City neighbor David Cross, an actor and comedian, who also owns a Catskills farmhouse.
