Openings and closings: Crewcuts opens, Piccola Cucina closes

J. Crew’s kid-centric branch, Crewcuts, has opened at 1200 Madison Avenue on the corner of 87th Street. Schnitzel Express is slated to replace City Burger at 1410 Broadway at the corner of 39th Street. Reports show the fast-food joint has installed its outdoor sign but there has been no word on when the official opening date is. A new deli-grocery spot is opening at 50 Delancey Street on the corner of Eldridge Street. Midtown lounge Forty Eight has tentative plans to open Monday, at 1221 Sixth Avenue on the corner of 48th Street.

The Waterpod — part commerical barge, part art exhibit and part sustainable technology showcase — opens today in Brooklyn Bridge Park at Pier Five. No. 7 restaurant has opened in Fort Greene at 7 Greene Avenue on the corner of Fulton Street. In Bushwick, a new eco-friendly gym is being built at 232 Varet Street on the corner of White Street. A new Fort Greene grocery store, Fresh Fanatic, will welcome customers at 275 Park Avenue, near Washington Avenue, starting Aug. 18.

Luxee, a bakery at 6 Clinton Street on the corner of East Houston, is closing. Piccola Cucina, an Italian eatery at 184 Prince Street between Thompson and Sullivan streets, has closed.
