Actor Jude Law’s hallowed new digs

Actor Jude Law, who is in town to star as Hamlet at the Broadhurst Theater, is renting a 3,500-square-foot West Village penthouse in a converted church. Living in a former house of worship has its benefits: cathedral ceilings, stained-glass windows, and a 50-foot glass atrium in the eight-unit building, which also drew the likes of actor and musician Steven Van Zandt, who paid $6 million to purchase a similar spot there last year. The rent for Law’s three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom spot in the Novare building has not been disclosed, but it is also listed for sale with Brown Harris Stevens’ Reid Price for $7.8 million.
