The Broadway Hotel at 230 West 101st Street, formerly used as a single-room-occupancy building, has been shut down by city officials for operating far above capacity, according to Fox News. Owner Hank Freid, CEO of the Impulsive Group, a hospitality company that operates several Manhattan hotels, including the Ameritania in Midtown and the Marrakech Hotel NYC on the Upper West Side, was slapped with an order to vacate, after reports surfaced that the Broadway Hotel was over capacity by more than 400 people. Freid declined to comment.
