Former French first lady Cecilia Attias, the ex-wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, has scooped up a $3.2 milliion, two-bedroom duplex at 322 East 57th Street with her new husband, events producer Richard Attias, according to the Observer. The seven-room apartment, which has four city view exposures, two wood-burning fireplaces and a maid’s room, had belonged to the late MGM actress and Ziegfield girl Mary Howard and her husband, Broadway producer Alfred de Liagre. The pair bought it for $10,000 in 1947. The 1929 building has a limestone façade and has been home to such big names as Orson Welles, Senator Jacob Javits and currently, Kathy Lee Gifford. Maria Torresy and Janet Chung of Brown Harris Stevens had the listing.
