Chad Rogers
The New York City real estate industry will be getting a little bit of advice from a Beverly Hills real estate pro, with the arrival of “Million Dollar Listing” star Chad Rogers, who is teaching a seminar on navigating the real estate market.
The Bravo reality show superbroker, who works for Hilton & Hyland in Beverly Hills, will be speaking at the Learning Annex Thursday night to a crowd of brokers, buyer investors, sellers, and of course, fans.
To get a better handle on the New York City residential real estate market, Rogers reached out to The Real Deal. So The Real Deal hit him up with some market-related and personal questions.
While he said he doesn’t “really have a pulse on the real estate market in New York,” Rogers noted “there are always common denominators wherever you go.”
His suggestions to homebuyers include having “focus” when starting out the search, and maintaining a checklist of must-haves and deal breakers. He used a checklist when he purchased his Beverly Hills home recently, he said.
To sellers, he said, particularly in this market, they “really need to get a preapproval letter early in the process.”
“Million Dollar Listing” follows the lives of three young Los Angeles real estate brokers, Rogers, Josh Flagg and Madison Hildebrand, as they fight for million-dollar deals.
When asked if he really is not friends with his co-stars, as depicted on the show, he said: “N-O spells no.”
The relationship between Rogers and girlfriend, Victoria, has been showcased on the program, but he told The Real Deal they recently broke up. He still maintains 50 percent custody of their Chihuahua, Starla, who often accompanies Rogers to real estate appointments. There was an episode where he had a legal contract drawn up to divide custody of Starla.
While in New York City, Rogers plans to stay at Ian Schrager’s Royalton Hotel at 44 West 44th Street, and frequent trendy restaurants including Buddakan and the Waverly Inn.
