Nestseekers announced today that it has been officially named the exclusive marketing and sales firm for 51-unit condo conversion, the Residences at 36 Gramercy Park East.
Nestseekers — which started marketing the project last month — said the building, constructed in 1908, was once home to actor John Barrymore, grandfather of Drew Barrymore, and his sister Ethel, also a well-known actress, as well as Alfred Ringling of Ringling Brothers Circus.
The condo conversion is owned and managed by Mann Realty Associates, the co-owner of another iconic New York building currently undergoing a condo conversion: the Upper West Side’s Apthorp. (Mann and Israeli billionaire Lev Leviev led a $426 million acquisition of the Apthorp more than three years ago, but in early 2009, Leviev wrested operational control from Mann and brought in the Feil Organization to take over management of the property.) Residents at 36 Gramercy Park East, located between 20th and 21st Streets, will have access to scenic Gramercy Park, which is only accessible to residents of adjacent buildings.
Before the building was converted, it was the only remaining rental building on Gramercy Park.
According to the Nestseekers website, units in the building are priced from $484,500 to $6.69 million. Sales will commence at the end of the month.
