Workout specialist Eric Anderson says new partnership with Tamarkin will also focus on other properties in distress

Developer Cary Tamarkin
and workout specialist Eric Anderson have been retained to help
complete the construction of One Madison Park, the Flatiron condominium
project from Slazer Enterprises that recently went into receivership.
Operating under a recently formed partnership, Tamarkin
Anderson LLC, the consultancy will advise One Madison Park’s
court-appointed receiver, Jonathan Newman, in completing the 69-unit
high rise, where the lobby and common areas have yet to be completed.
Anderson said outside of One Madison Park he expects the firm
will mainly focus on condominium projects. But, with a number of
condo-hotels and standalone hotel projects in distress, the company may
dedicate more time to the other building types.
“With development going through a rocky period it seems like
the lion’s share of the work is going to be working out existing
deals,” Anderson, speaking on behalf of the newly formed firm, told The Real Deal.
The firm was also named as a referee at 215 East 81st Street, a condo developed by Israel Ben Suky of Livorno Properties.
Tamarkin is the founder of Tamarkin Co., and the developer of
several Manhattan projects including 47 East 91st Street and 456 West
19th on the High Line.
Tamarkin has been in the news lately for his job as architect and
developer of CNN Anderson Cooper’s Greenwich Village firehouse at 84
West 3rd Street.
Anderson previously led the workout of 56 Leonard, a condo from Alexico Group, Goldman Sachs and Dune Capital.
