Restaurateur Gabe Stulman has taken over the lease at 239 West 4th
Street from legendary restaurant Fedora but will keep the restaurant
largely in tact after a few structural renovations. Stulman, who also
owns Joseph Leonard at 170 Waverly Place and who plans to take over
operations from the 90-year-old chef Fedora Dorato, asked Community
Board 2 for a liquor license transfer last night. He plans to close the
place temporarily for the structural work, but will keep most of the
restaurant’s design in place and will not change its name once
reopening as a “casual elegant supper club” that would serve meals
between 5 p.m. and 4 a.m. [Eater]
