A couple fighting to regain control of their Upper West Side wine
bar from mutinous investors celebrated yesterday after a judge ruled in
their favor, at least temporarily. Jennifer Klein, a former Jordache
Jeans model, was ousted Monday when four of the investors at Wine and
Roses, at 286 Columbus Avenue
between 73rd and 74th streets, changed the locks without her or her
husband Todd’s permission, the New York Post reported. A new manager
hired by the investors refused to let them in, until Manhattan Supreme
Court Judge Milton Tingling signed the order returning the Kleins to
power after their lawyer argued the investors had not even followed
their own procedures for ousting them. After calling the police, a
locksmith came and changed the locks, giving the keys to the Kleins.
The court order is in place until at least Monday, when the judge will
hold a full hearing. [Post]
