11-15 Old Fulton Street
One month after Dumbo’s 11, 13 and 15 Old Fulton Street received vacate orders from the city, the historic properties are set to be demolished unless the owners come to terms with Department of Buildings and the Landmarks Preservation Commission over ordered repairs, according to the Brooklyn Paper. The gutted building, which sits adjacent to the famed Grimaldi’s pizzeria (whose owner is facing problems of his own), has “significant structural defects” on its rear wall, the city said. Talks have been rocky thus far, with owners sitting on a number of violations for years before finally putting up scaffolding in response to the threat of demolition. But DOB officials said that negotiations have taken a more positive turn in recent weeks. [Brooklyn Paper]
