Related Companies veteran David Wine, the vice chairman and marketing and development whiz who has headed projects like Superior Ink and 1 Central Park at the Time Warner Center, is leaving the firm and striking out on his own. Wine announced yesterday that he is launching a new venture dubbed Oliver’s Realty Group, a real estate development, investment and brokerage company, Crain’s reported. “I’ve been around in the business long enough to remember the previous cycle,” said Wine, who, prior to his 32 years at Related, served as a multi-family housing specialist for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. “These times present tremendous opportunities.” Wine’s new company will be a subsidiary of Oliver’s Co., his 15-year-old holding company, which already has ownership stakes in two dozen Related rental apartment buildings in New York City. Wine said Related plans to divide his former responsibilities amongst the firm’s existing executives after his departure. [Crain’s]
