Corcoran agent and wife found murdered

An agent with the Corcoran Group and his wife were found dead Wednesday after their son allegedly stabbed them to death in the couple’s Staten Island home.

Arthur Bellucci, 61, worked out of Corcoran’s 124 Montague Street office in Brooklyn Heights, where he focused the bulk of his energy on residential sales. Most recently, he worked on the Lenox Road Condos new development at 337 Lenox Road in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, where Corcoran is the exclusive agent.

Bellucci died of multiple sharp force injuries, according to the medical examiner’s office. His wife, Marian, 56, suffered from a stab wound to the neck, which perforated major blood vessels. The two victims, whose deaths were ruled homicides, were pronounced dead Wednesday at 11:55 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

The suspect, the Belluccis’ son, fled to Israel after the homicide. He was apprehended at an airport in Tel Aviv by Israeli authorities at 2:30 a.m. today, after attempting to purchase an airline ticket to Beijing, law enforcement sources said. The son suffered from schizophrenia, according to news reports.

The Staten Island district attorney’s ofice has not formally charged Eric yet. The DA’s office and the New York Police Department are talking to Israeli authorities about the logistics of him returning to the United States, the DA’s office said.

On his archived agent Web page, Bellucci, a Brooklyn native, is described as a “veteran brownstone Brooklynite, who specializes in the Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope and surrounding areas.”

Bellucci’s Web page also notes his “outgoing, gregarious, captivating” personality and praises his dedication to his career and family.

“Active in politics and sports in addition to his thriving career,” Bellucci’s profile said, “Arthur is also just as dedicated to his wife and three children.”

Funeral arrangements are being finalized by the family, according to a spokesperson for the funeral home, John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, on Staten Island.

“Arthur Bellucci was a wonderful and dedicated member of the Corcoran family and we are profoundly saddened by this tragic news,” Pamela Liebman, president and CEO of the Corcoran Group, said. “We extend our deepest sympathies to all the family and friends of our beloved colleague.”
