Kimpton, Silverstein named among best employers in NYC

Some major real estate players cracked this year’s list of the top 50 best places to work in New York City, a roster compiled by Crain’s. Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, which operates the Eventi and Ink48, nabbed the number five slot for its personalized attention to employees — questionnaires for new hires ask about likes and dislikes, including whether the employee wants his birthday celebrated with a cake. Second Avenue Subway construction crew Sam Schwartz Engineering clocked in at number 16, while Silverstein Properties just made the list at number 50.
