Staten Island home market shows stability

From the 2011 Data Book The first-time homebuyer tax credit and record-low interest rates helped nudge a comeback from the depths of the recession in Staten Island. The median home price rebounded after hitting a low point in the second quarter of 2009 at $365,000. But with the tax credit no longer propping up the market past June, the number of home sales leveled off in the third quarter of 2010.
