The Connecticut estate where Katharine Hepburn lived until her death in 2003 is back on the market for $28 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. The 3.5-acre property, located in Old Saybrook, currently belongs to New York construction magnate Frank Sciame and his wife, Barbara, who purchased it for $6 million in 2004. At the time, Sciame had planned to renovate and resell the 8,300-square-foot home, which had been in the Hepburn family since 1913, but he and his family “fell in love with it” and while Sciame did renovate, he’s spent summers there in the years since. Now, he’s ready to part with the property. The estate has been divided into three lots, which are available together or separately. The largest lot, which includes the house and a dock on the Long Island Sound, is asking $18 million. Colette Harron, of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, has the listing. [WSJ]
