568 Broadway

Two-year-old tech startup Foursquare is leaving its 7,600-square-foot shared office in 36 Cooper Square and moving in to the top two floors of 568 Broadway in Soho, the New York Observer reported.

Foursquare had been sharing space with blog network Curbed and design shop Hard Candy Shell, before outgrowing the East Village locale. It began searching for easily accessible loft space in a neighborhood that would give it an edge in the hyper-competitive talent wars being waged by Silicon Alley startups, according to the Observer.

It settled on 568 Broadway, at the corner of Prince Street, beating out another up-and-coming tech firm, Tumblr, the Observer said, for a two-floor sublease from Scholastic totaling 56,000 square feet. It isn’t the first tech tenant the Eric Hadar-led Allied Partners building has attracted, as ZocDoc already occupies the ninth floor.

Dennis Leary’s other venture, production company Apostle, also has space in the building. [NYO]
