Former National Arts Club President O. Aldon James and his attorney skipped the club’s board’s internal hearing today to determine whether to evict James from the apartments he, his twin brother and friend Steven Leitner are accused of misusing in the ongoing scandal, DNAinfo reported.
The hearing went forward without James and the board will make a determination regarding the eviction in the next several weeks, the club’s lawyer, Roland Riopelle, told DNAinfo. The club is located at 15 Gramercy Park South.
The state attorney general’s office and the Manhattan district attorney’s office are investigating the three men for hoarding what DNAinfo called “flea-market junk” bought with the tax-exempt organization’s funds in the Gramercy Park apartments their positions afforded. [DNAinfo]
