Michael Meier, head of the Meier Group at Rutenberg Realty, is betting that sex can sell a 4,500-square-foot apartment at 109 West 26th Street in Chelsea, according to a video he posted online as part of his “Selling Higher with Michael Meier” series.
The broker is trying to finding a buyer for the Chelsea listing, which once served as a manufacturing hub for Tiffany & Co., which used to make its iconic blue bags at the building. The listing is asking $3.9 million, Streeteasy.com shows.
To attract attention to the unit, Meier’s hosting a photoshoot with some serious sex appeal.
“I just listed one of the largest lofts for sale in Chelsea,” Meier says in the video. “It’s actually where Tiffany’s used to make those little blue bags to house their diamonds. To market it, I’m putting together a photoshoot. I invited over some beautiful models and some internationally renowned stylists.”
The loft apartment will mostly likely be converted into an open plan space, Meier said, to take advantage of the light streaming in from windows on both sides.
The listing has been on the market for two months, Streeteasy.com shows, and reduced its price by $300,000 four weeks ago. — Katherine Clarke
