Jeffrey Chodorow, the restaurateur behind Asia de Cuba and China Grill, has relisted his Trump Tower apartment in Midtown with a 15 percent price bump, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Chodorow originally listed the 3,700-square-foot spread, comprised of three apartments he combined, for $16.4 million last April. He took the unit, on the 38th floor of 721 Fifth Avenue, off the market about five weeks ago Streeteasy.com shows, and is now relisting it with Oren Alexander of Prudential Douglas Elliman for $18.8 million.
Though Chodorow spent just $5.4 million to acquire the three units in 2004, he extensively renovated them and turned 10 rooms into seven. The result was a three-bedroom, four and a half-bathroom home with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing Central Park and, of course, a chef’s kitchen.
Alexander said the asking price, which is the highest in the tower, is a discount from prices at other luxury apartment building. Chodorow said he put the home on the market because he plans to spend more time in Florida. [WSJ]
