The Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Conn. is slated to open at 1 Blachley Road next month with a new official lodging partner: the nearby Sheraton Stamford Hotel at 700 East Main Street. The Stamford Advocate reported the pair signed for a two-year partnership, and though the specific terms were not revealed, it guarantees all visiting athletes for games and tournaments will be directed straight to the hotel.
The Sheraton is now part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide and underwent a recent multi-million dollar renovation. The details of the 379-room hotel’s renovation were not mentioned.
As previously reported, the new Chelsea Piers facility will total 400,000 square feet. The $45 million build-out will include two ice rinks, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts a water park and a day care center, among other amenities.
